6 years

Hard to believe Hank and I celebrated our since year wedding anniversary in March! Hank always complains that we didn't plan our wedding date very smart because it is right in the middle of calving season...(oh the problems of a farmer's wife;) ) even with it being a very busy time of year on the farm we were able to sneak away for a few days to celebrate.
My sister Devri was awesome enough to take Grant for a night so Hank and I could go to a jazz game and just have some us time. This was my first night away from Grant so to say the least I was a lot little nervous about how he and I would both do. But my sister being the pro-mother made grant feel right at home and he had a great time!
That next morning Devri met us in Bountiful to bring Grant to us. We had a whole family day planned!  I had been excited for weeks to take Grant to the zoo. He absolutely loves animals!! But...... the zoo was kind of a bust. It was windy and cold and raining....Not the best Zoo weather. So sadly most of the animals were not outside. So we froze our way through to see what animals we could see. After the zoo we found a indoor splash pad/pool. Grant had a blast there so it made up for freezing the few hours before.

When Grant is a little older we will give the Zoo another go. Until then.....we'll stick with hanging with the cows and horses!

Little bit of life

Life gets busy so sometimes pictures tell the story.  Life from February - May

Trying out the giant tractors at Agra Action
First solo (no mom) ride with Dad in the loader. I think he looks pretty proud to be up there!

Thirsty?

Always wet!
He wanted this beenie on all day long! Oh.....and to carry a bar of soap around. Funny kid!

Keeping me young.... or making my old?

Hank and I should have looked up the name Grant before we decide to name our son; because I'm sure in a special dictionary the Grant = mischief! Grant decided to end his morning nap by getting out of his crib by himself. Well it didn't end as happy as he must have thought it would. He has a good bump and scrape from his fall.
Later I made pudding pops and had some pudding left over so I stuck it in the fridge. Well while I was laying another batch of elk jerky out on the dryer Grant decided to help him self to a snack.

Pudding smeared everywhere!!!
But today I am choosing to count my blessings....
At least it isn't poop!

Grant's 1 year pictures

Grant was a stinker during his little photo shoot. He was happy as could be to just sit and play with whatever we gave him. But there was no way he was going to let a smile sneak out. Hailey (the awesome photographer) was so patient and tried every trick to get him to smile, I tried everything to get him to smile....NOTHING! As a final attempt to get a smile from this kid we called in the big guns. Literally...we called Dad! Grant loves talking to his Dad on the phone. I called and put him on speaker phone so Grant could hear. The instant Grant heard his Daddy say "What ya doing monster?" all the smiles came bursting out! So all the super cute shots we got with smiles are thanks to Dad!

We almost got a smile here

Some of these I couldn't decide which I liked better, black or white...so you get both!

Here is where the phone call started! HELLO SMILEY BOY!

He loved this wagon...even after he fell out of it haha!

Happy Birthday Grant!

January 3rd we celebrated Grants 1st birthday! I cant believe my baby is one!. What an amazing year it has been! Grant is growing to be such a fun sweet little boy! He is not walking yet but loves trying to walk between mom and dad. He still hasn't mastered the skill of sleeping through the night ( the stinker!) but we are getting better slowly at that as well. One of the many funny talents grant has is he is learning to whistle. Every morning when Hank leaves for work he walks outside and whistles for the dogs to come. We usually always watch from the door and so he hears his dad make that sounds....then the dogs come. So now he tries to whistle all the time.
I feel like this year flew by!

We have had so much fun this past year! We feel so blessed to have Grant in our family!
